Hurricane Helene hit Boone, North Carolina in September 2024, devastating my little college town. In this photo book titled “Metamorphosis” I wanted to document first hand the experience of returning to normalcy after an event that impacted the lives of so many around me.

I wanted to highlight the juxtaposition between destruction and community. I used images of my everyday life, moving on and making memories, intertwined with images I took of the local aftermath. Physically binding this book in just one edition made it a very reflecting and personal process.
